Keep Morgan Freeman in your prayers as he holds onto life after serious car accident in Mississippi.

I just ran across this one my yahoo page and am sad to hear the news.  Click here to read more about the car accident he had last night (Sunday night) in rural Mississippi.  When I read the part about them needing to use the jaws of life to get him out, it really hit me.

McFerrin said it appeared that Freeman’s car was airborne went it left the highway and landed in a ditch.

UPDATE 8/6/08:  GOOD NEWS!!! It looks like Morgan Freeman is on the road to recovery (no pun intended of course).  Here are some excerpts from the BBC article Freeman Recovering After Surgery

Mr Freeman’s spokeswomen said the surgery to reconnect nerves and repair damage to his left arm and hand lasted four-and-a-half hours….

…Mr Freeman’s car ran off the side of the road and overturned several times, landing upright in a ditch.

Mr Freeman, who was driving the car, and a female passenger were airlifted to Memphis’s Regional Medical Center, about 90 miles (145km) north of where the accident occurred in Tallahatchie County…

…Both passengers had been wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, said Mississippi Highway Patrol Sergeant Ben Williams.

“There’s no indication that either alcohol or drugs were involved,” he added. He said it was possible that the actor had fallen asleep at the wheel.

Mr Freeman was conscious and talking at the scene, he said.

There were “no other vehicles or pedestrians involved”, he added…

So who is this female passenger? I’m guessing she does not want to be named.  I was just curious to know if she was also critically injured.
