Operation Out on a Limb: New Stylist Search- 2nd Appointment w/ Mr. Greek
In short, I love, love, love, love my hair! Mr. Greek is absolutely fantastic! This is the 2nd time in my entire life exploring color and I knew I wanted to go with more of a statement and he TOTALLY got what I was after. It has been a LONG time since I’ve left a salon completely happy. I totally recommend him. Plus, he was able to style my hair in its naturally curly state. He took extra time at the end to shape and define the curls by twisting them with one finger, rolling it up the finger and then release. You get a nice coil when you do it when my hair’s wet. I had heard about that before but didn’t know what the stylist was describing. I essentially used to do that back in college with those long bendy rollers. You could twist your hair (just with one strand), roll it in the bendy rollers, and sit under the dryer to get that coily wavy look.

He also made sure I was ready for a night on the town because he said he knows how black girls talk about hair. He said “I know they’ll say ‘ya your color looks good but he can’t style'” or stuff like that. He cracks me up! But what better way to break the ice than to just call it out. He does that all the time when I’m just being quiet. That’s the funny thing about being at the salon. Do you have to talk to your stylist the whole time or what? I’ll probably dedicate a blog to that sometime.

Here’s a picture. Let me know what you think! I know it’s just a cell phone pic, but you get the point.
p.s. the one thing I think he could be doing better is conditioning my hair. That’s like a 30 sec experience with him so far. The next time, I’ll need to school him on that and maybe bring a conditioning cap so he can sit me under the dryer for a few minutes. Baby steps…
