Alumni Roundup launches new web series ‘Leaving Home: An HBCU Story’

“Leaving Home: An HBCU Story” is a brainchild of Rustin “Roundup Russy” Moore that began as a Kickstarter film project entitled “First 48: HBCU Edition”..“I wanted to bring the HBCU experience to children who may not have the opportunity to go on HBCU tours. I think it will also be a resource to parents to ease their concerns of sending their child off to school at one of our sacred institutions.

Cheyney student selected for 105 voices

Barnabus Perry was selected to represent Cheyney University for the 105 Voices of History, National HBCU Concert Choir. The event is going to be showcased at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on September 19th with musical performances by Dr. Shirley Caesar and Kim Burrell.

Morehouse College dress code. Let’s talk about it.

Over the weekend, I was watching Don Lemmon on CNN talk on several occasions about the new dress code at Morehouse College. If you aren’t aware, Morehouse is an all male Historically Black College and University (HBCU) and considered to be an elite institution for black men. While there are 11 points addressed on the policy, the one about not wearing women’s attire is gaining the most attention.
