Hey all,
For all of you OSU Campus folks who might be looking for Kim Tolber – formerly of Colors Barbershop and Hall of Fame Barbershop – she is now located at Old School Barbershop; 1500 South Hamilton Road (behind Sunoco; (614)861-4833.
Kim is a great Barber and she is skilled and proficient in doing it all.
I am looking for a shop in columbus ohio that does dominican doobies…does anyone know of one?!
I just moved from Indianapolis. While I lived there, I went to Adaru salon. You get a free consultation and they do natural dos and yes, perms as well. I got sew ins while I was there, but they do locks and lock styling. I do not recommend going to Ms. Vivian…she doesn’t admit it but she doesn’t know how to design and is almost never on time. She’s also very, very, very slow. Sweet older woman, though.
@Jacquie- thanks for your review for Adaru salon. word of mouth is the best way to get the real deal on things, so your comment helps me and i’m sure others in the region.
@Affrodite: If I visited Dairdre, do you think she could recommend styles that would be good for my type of hair? I need to be hair educated too and want to go to somebody that’s not afraid to teach my what’s good for my hair so I can do it on my own.
@Jacquie- I think she would be a good person to talk to. She’s expensive, so you have to be willing to fork out some loot. If you want, you can always stop by the salon while she’s working and just meet her. She works on Wed, Fri, and Sat. You could also just try calling the salon during those times and asking for her (although i think a live visit tends to get you the answers you need more quickly).
Queen Bee’s at 14 Chittenden in Columbus, Ohio. A natural friend of mine has been to Dani there who does natural hair and wears her natural. I went in just to get some advice on my hair and she was locking someone else’s. I’ve heard her locks are gorgeous and she does natural dos as well. Number is 323 8115. I believe this is a black owned salon.
Hi all and Happy New Year,
I’m new to C-Bus and looking for someone to start my sista locks, any suggestions welcomed. Thanks
@Kim- Welcome to Columbus! There’s a local meetup.com group called Naturally, Kinky, and Coily. The link to it is on the right frame of this blog under “Columbus Networking.” You might want to join this group and/or pose your question there as well.

Good luck finding info on sisterlocks and thanks for visiting my blog.
I recommend the Nu (Image Barber Shop
Barber: Tim (best barber there)
http://nuimageonline.com/
Nu Image Barber Shop
98 River Street
Cambridge, MA 02139
617-354-9898
You can make an appointment online.
However, I strongly suggest you first call for Tim in the middle of the day and make an appointment with him personally.
Haircuts (Fades) + Beard : $21
Tim cuts edges very crisp. His fades are seamless. And his chin-straps are along the jaw line! Some barbers cut chin-straps too high. ugh.
